Cross-border finances

Finally, an app that understands money between the US and Canada.

Living across the border means two banking systems, two currencies, and two of everything, except a finance app that keeps up. Most apps either ignore one country entirely or mash your dollars and loonies into a single number that isn’t true in either currency. Priszim was built for exactly this life.

Honest by design

Your money, in its own currency.

Every account in Priszim keeps its native currency: your Chase checking stays in USD, your RBC chequing stays in CAD. When you want one combined figure, Priszim converts explicitly and shows you the rate it used, so a blended number is always a statement you can check, never a silent guess.

Adding $135,415 and C$18,500 as if they were the same unit would be a lie. Priszim never tells it.

Whatever shape your cross-border life takes.

TN visa holders & new arrivals

You’re earning a US paycheck while a Canadian student loan quietly collects interest in CAD, and your credit history is starting over from zero. Priszim keeps both sides visible at once, so paying down the loan back home is a plan you can see, not a guess you make on payday.

Snowbirds

Winters in Arizona, summers in Ontario, a CAD pension landing monthly and USD condo fees going out. Priszim shows the pension and the condo expenses each in their own currency, and tells you what this winter actually cost, without pretending the two dollars are interchangeable.

Cross-border couples

One paycheck lands in USD, the other in CAD, and the grocery budget lives in whichever currency you actually spend. Priszim lets you pick that currency once, budget in it, and still see both incomes clearly. No spreadsheet reconciliation night required.

Returning expats

You moved back, but your money didn’t all come with you: a 401(k) here, a brokerage account there, a US credit card you kept for travel. Priszim keeps the accounts you left behind in the picture, in their own currency, instead of letting them fade into an out-of-sight, out-of-mind blur.

How it works

Cross-border isn’t a feature flag. It’s the foundation.

FX rates, tracked daily and dated

Priszim refreshes exchange rates every day, and every converted figure says what rate it used and when. An honest conversion is one you can verify: “≈ $148,920 USD at 0.73” is a fact; a bare total is a hope.

Budgets in the currency you spend

Your grocery budget is denominated in your spending currency (the one you chose, once) and it stays there. Priszim never auto-converts your budget targets behind your back, so C$450 for groceries means C$450, every month, regardless of where the rate wanders.

Every account keeps its native currency

USD accounts stay USD. CAD accounts stay CAD. Lists, charts, and account detail screens always show the figure your bank would show you. Conversion happens only when you ask for a combined view, and it’s labeled when it does.

Ask Priszim, across both sides

“What did I spend on groceries in Canada last quarter?” gets a real answer, because the AI assistant sees both sides of your border, and keeps the currencies straight when it answers. Your US spending and your Canadian spending, each reported in its own dollars.

Get organized for tax season

Show up to your accountant prepared, not apologetic.

Cross-border life comes with paperwork conversations: foreign account balances, money moving across the border, accounts your accountant will want to know exist. Priszim keeps that picture organized all year, so the annual 8-hour document hunt becomes a 10-minute export.

To be clear about what Priszim is: it organizes and packages your own information. It doesn’t file taxes, and it doesn’t determine what you owe or what you’re required to file; those conversations belong with your accountant. Priszim just makes sure you walk into them with everything they need.

  • Foreign account balances, summarized and dated
  • Cross-border transfers and flows, in one view
  • Each figure in its native currency, conversions labeled
  • Exports your accountant can actually use

Your money crosses the border. Your finance app should too.

Priszim launches on iOS first. Connect your banks securely with Plaid, or import statements (CSV, XLSX, PDF). Founding members get early access and launch pricing locked in.
